Fix my Heads, Austin Tx — Sprinkler Repair

Old Town Park City of Georgetown by Justin Wilson

We recently finished installing a bubbler tree irrigation system for the tree planting listed below. It is super that we live in a town where the enviroment is valued, and being reinvested in. Enjoy your local parks.

Sprinkler and Irrigation

Georgetown Parks & Recreation is looking for volunteers to help with the first public tree planting of the Fall season in the historic downtown area on Saturday, November 7, 2009. Organized by the City’s Urban Forester, Heather Brewer, the tree planting will start at 9 a.m. at Old Town Park. The park is located at 1262 S. Austin Avenue at the corner of 16th Street in Georgetown. The tree planting will mark the first of future renovations to the park, which will include a new playground and renovations to the volleyball court.

Volunteers should wear old shoes and bring gloves and a shovel. Fifty‐one trees will be planted, 30 of which are ornamental and 21 shade trees. The ornamental trees will add aesthetic value to the park, lining the wooden fence in the park that has been repeatedly vandalized with graffiti. Species include: Yaupon Holly, Texas Mountain Laurel, Flameleaf Sumac, Mexican Plum, Bur Oak, Monterey Oak, Lacebark Elm and Chinkapin Oak. The holes for planting the trees will be pre‐dug by parks staff. “Volunteers are needed to place the trees, shovel soil around the root balls, and put mulch around the trees once they are planted.” says Brewer.
